monthly tunes september

that September in the rain, that song by Norah Jones is perfect for this month. Rain there is a lot of that stuff. A little too much if you ask me, but I shouldn't complain. Here are some songs I do love this month. I hope you enjoy them.

monthly tunes june & the blogloving switch

I selected 10 fresh new tunes for this month. And I love them all. I can get a little annoyed when I don't have new music every once in a while. And that time has come so this month half of the playlist are songs I don't really know, but sound great to me.
Talking about new things, as you probably already know Google reader is going to stop in two weeks. So in the future you can follow submarines and sewingmachines at bloglovin.

sometimes the blues is just a passing bird

"Oh sometimes the blues is just a passing bird
And why can't that always be
Tossing aside from your birches crown
Just enough dark to see
How you're the light over me"
this is the refrain of the song "the dreamer" by the tallest man on earth. I love the tallest man on earth, his lyrics are great, his voice is rough, and his guitar sounds great. yeah he is one of my faforites. If you don't know him, give it a try. Don't be scared by his a little odd voice, once you got used to it a little, his music is beautiful.

monthly tunes may

I selected 10 new songs of the month. This time there is a lot of music from Edward sharp and the magnetic zeros. I love that band, I first saw them in a documentary, touring with Mumford and sons and the old crow. golden. just perfect. it was so awesome to see them all go wild on stage. I loved looking at that doc, and I'm deferentially going to do it again soon. It's called big easy express.
than there is some Beatles and Langhorne Slim, and some others. the jungle giants are also always good for a little smile on my face. And a new one to me: Caroline smith and the goodnight sleeps. why do all these bands have such long names?

"If you love me the way you say you do,
I know I can always be happy with you"
~the wedding band~

the wedding band includes Mumford and sons and some of their friends. They made one EP called the first dance. I really love these songs. This one is called thumper. If you like Mumford and sons you should try this too. I really like she said yes too

Racoon

"Maybe I'm just a crazy fool
Who lives by a crazy rule
To bring happy thoughts
Happy thoughts to you"

That's one of my favorite quotes of them. And I've been to their concert, and it was lovely. The singer made some funny jokes like replacing the sentence 'happy thoughts to you' with 'cause happy thoughts are cool' and he told story's about the songs, par example he had bullied someone when he was young because he stuttered, and now his own son stutters, and he regrets that he bullied the boy, and wrote a song about it called better be kind.
here's two of my other favorite qoutes from racoon:
"Flowers pop out of the street, everywhere I place my feet"
"Please don't give up the fight, for no reason"
"close your eyes you might see something beautiful"

Racoon is a dutch band and they made 7 albums so far so there is much to listen. their big hit (in the Netherlands) is love you more, that's a great song. The pictures here are made by Tim, but edited by me. He did brought his camera and I forgot.

Life is a chance to enjoy the world

and you’ve only got one shot.
So you better give it all you’ve got.
~Roland Albertson~
The cool thing about Roland Albertson is that he makes music just for the music and so all of his songs are legally free downloadable here. I like 'no place like home' most. This lyric comes from the song 'to yourself'.

beauty and love

I really like this quote, just like I really like the song its from, Love Lust by King Charles. I song it a lot today. The picture I used is me and Tim in a meadow (including birds and cows). It was the first photo I shared on facebook of us. I faded it a lot and putted the quote in frond.

lyrics project

I don't think loving someone with your whole heart is a fault, but it can hurt if the person you give your heart don't treat it right. Thats what this lyrics is about, its from my favorite band Mumford and sons from the song white blank page. And now they have a new album :)
this is the start of a lyrics project of mine, I'll make some blog posts about lyrics an other inspirational quotes. I always listen to lyrics when I listen to songs sometimes I do remember a sentence of a song but not the melodies. Do you have some favorite song quotes?
