The very first DIY that I wrote was about customizing your phone with some contact paper. I still had some of that pretty wood printed contact paper waiting to be used. When I saw this camera on pinterest I thought "omg that's so pretty!" and then I thought "hey I can make that too" and than I discovered that the pretty pinterest camera was a craft by someone. Anyway, If you have a camera at home that can use a little makeover you should totally try this. And its not permanent at all you can just remove it, but it stays on pretty well if you do like it. Lets get started!

analog photos
I had my film developed a little while ago, and today I'm sharing some of the pic's I made with you. I used my zenit-E to make the photos. there where none failed pictures, that made me happy in the first place. I really like this camera, I got it from a friend. the SLR camera has been made in the USSR a long long time ago (about 40 years). The thing that I love about it is that it works without a battery, but it does has a light meter. when you want to take a picture, you first have to focus, that check the light meter than adjust your aperature and shutter speed, than pull the leaver for a new piece of film and then finally you can make the picture. A lot more work than with a digital camera but I think it's fun. (I can talk about camera's all day but I'll stop for now)
this is the guy that made these pic's possible

polaroids
I know it's been a while. But today I'm showing you something I'm exited about. because last week I shot my Polaroid photos. finally 2 years after buying my camera. I remember buying it for only 2 euros at a Finnish flea market. I couldn't believe the price. and a little more than a year later my friends gave my a film pack for my birth day, these things are 25 euros for 8 photos, damn... That's why I waited so long to use them. I was afraid to waste them.
The battery is included in the package, and the battery that was in the package that came with the camera was empty, so I think its formal owner thought the camera was broken but the battery just ran out. In that package was still one overexposed failed photo that I used for a little project.
when they come out of the camera, the photos are blue, like completely blue. And you have to hide them away from light for a few minutes. Then they develop and lose their blueness. And you have your Polaroid pic. I love the colors, light leaks, spots and these edges, the upside one is blue at most photos. I even like them being a bit unsharp, because you can't focus with a Polaroid camera, you can only slide a close-up lens in front of the lens.
I really like talking about vintage cameras, but I'll leave it at this for today. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
ps. this is so much cooler than the effects on instagram. It's the real deal

-DIY- free lensing (also for sony)
Do you know this effect on instagram where you make everything blurry except the subject. Well this is the real way to do it. You can do that by holding your lens in front of your DSLR, and tilt it a bit. its a little hard at the beginning but after some practice you can get awesome results. I learned this technique here. it's all explained there. But with a Sony alpha DSLR you have some troubles, at first the shutter is locked and at second the aperature of the lens will shut to its smallest when you detached the lens. And you don't want that. The shutter problem can be solved by setting the camera on manual mode, and the newer cameras have an option for it in the menu. For the lens problem I have two solutions. To see them click 'like to see more?' under the post. The second solution is also nice for non-Sony users

what have I done?!
Well I went to the goodbye party of a friend of mine who is going to live in the USA for one year. It was really nice and fun, we slept outside in her garden and jumped on her trampoline, sang songs by the fire and ate marshmallows, jumjum.
I made her this camera strap, based on this tutorial.
and packed it into this this tiny present
I pasted two wiggle eyes on my camera, now it has a face. :)
and I wore this necklace I bought at the ijhallen
and I made this list,

my own SLR camera
"we have an old mirror reflex camera at home, we don't use it, you can have it if you want"
thats where it started, a friend of mine had this 50 years old camera at home, and they almost brought to the thrift store. But fortunately she said "wait, I know someone who would really like that"
so I have crossed something more off my list of things I allways wanted to do/have, today I also ride a tandem. so thats two in one day.
her is my zenit E:
I'll post the pictures I make with it as soon as I have them

Polaroid camera
I just couldn't believe it when I heard this real, working polaroid camera only costed 2 euro's. I was with emma at a jumble sale in helsinki. The only problem is that I dont have any films for it, and they are kind of expensive, the are the same price as the camera was, 2 euro's. It's an Spirit 600 cl instand camera.
